Three categories of Ukrainians will receive financial assistance for food: how to apply

In Ukraine, there are categories of citizens who receive a pension greater than the “usual” payment of 5 thousand hryvnias – we are not talking about judges and prosecutors.

In addition, the PFU provides these citizens with special compensation for the cost of food, according to a message on the fund's website.

These are participants in the liquidation of accidents, victims of the Chernobyl disaster, and victims of radiation exposure (categories 1 and 2).

You can apply for compensation through the Pension Fund, the “Diya” portal, or authorized persons of local councils/CNAPs by providing your ID and identification documents.

Financial assistance is granted within 10 days after submitting a complete package of documents and is not provided in the event of an incomplete package, change of registration, or loss of victim status.

The provision of compensation for food is provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens Affected by the Chernobyl Disaster.”

Three categories of citizens can receive financial assistance:

ADVERTISING

  • participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, participants in the liquidation of nuclear accidents classified as category 1 or 2;
  • victims of the Chernobyl disaster, classified as categories 1 or 2;
  • victims of radiation exposure classified as categories 1 or 2.

How to apply for financial assistance

You can apply for compensation for meals through:

  • service centers of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;
  • “Diya” portal;
  • authorized persons of the executive body of the village, settlement, city council of the relevant territorial community or ASC.

In addition to the application, you must submit the following documents:

a copy of the certificate of a participant in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl NPP, a participant in the liquidation of nuclear accidents, a victim of the Chernobyl disaster,

ADVERTISING

a victim of radiation exposure classified as category 1 or 2;

copies of the certificate of assignment of the taxpayer's registration card number or the series and number of the passport with a note on refusal to accept such a number.

Monetary compensation is awarded no later than ten days after receipt of the application with all necessary documents.

At the same time, monetary compensation is not provided if:

  • the established list of documents has not been submitted in full;
  • the place of registration has changed;
  • The status of a participant in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, a participant in the liquidation of nuclear accidents classified as category 1 or 2; a victim of the Chernobyl disaster classified as category 1 or 2; a victim of radiation exposure classified as category 1 or 2 was canceled.
