Dinesh Karthike praises India's tenacity after a shock series-extending draw with England. But could Ben Stokes' side have done more to secure victory? Nasser Hussain is not opposed to the tourists playing so Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja could have made hundreds.

The series between England and India continues after the tourists drew on day five of the fourth Test at Emirates Old Trafford, setting up the final at Kia Oval.
At 0-2 in the first over of the second innings just before lunch on day four, and 311 runs behind, India looked beaten. However, England could only take two wickets from that point on as Shubman Gill's men reached 425-4 in 143 overs.
Gill hit his fourth hundred of the series, while Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar also reached triple figures late in the game, despite England captain Ben Stokes wanting the match to end with a draw as the only possible outcome.

India's Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja reached the century mark before the handshakes took place in Manchester.
England were broken by India's spirit, who conceded three missed catches: Gill was dismissed for 46 by Liam Dawson and for 83 by Ollie Pope, while Jadeja was bowled for 0 by Joe Root.
After the hosts held on to a 2-1 lead heading into Thursday's final Test, Sky Sports Cricket's Dinesh Karthike and Nasser Hussain heaped praise on India and discussed why Stokes' men failed to secure a series-clinching win in Manchester.
How impressive was India's response?
Dinesh Karthik from Sky Sports Cricket:
“This Indian team will be around for a long time and to have a draw like this, when everything was against them and they almost felt like they were finished, is just amazing.
“In many ways, this is one of the best things that has ever happened in India.
“Washington showed courage, determination and skill and Jadeja has been a real fighter all season.
India captain Shubman Gill scored his fourth hundred in the series against England.
“Gill has scored the highest in the series so far. He came out for three and had to take some body blows while Stokes was trying to get the ball out and staying in his comfort zone. He stood like a rock and built a rapport with KL Rahul.
“But it's not just the numbers, it's the way India played. It was clear after lunch that India were confident and could do something. They really fought and that attitude will pay off for them.”
