Aston Villa and Arsenal both qualified for the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Gunners' reward for beating PSV Eindhoven over two legs will be a quarter-final meeting with reigning champions Real Madrid, who beat Atletico in an unusual penalty shootout, while Villa face Paris Saint-Germain.
Cruise in a villa
There may have been a few nervous fans at Villa Park given the way Club Brugge started the return leg on Wednesday, but after Kiriani Sabbe was sent off in the 17th minute there was little doubt that Villa would not only hold on to their 3-1 lead from the first leg but extend it.
Although Villa are new to the Champions League, Marco Asensio is an experienced player and the three-time European champion came off the bench to score a second-half brace to help them secure a 3-0 win, which will see them face hometown club PSG in the quarter-finals.
Another goal from Jan Maatsen gave Villa a 6-1 aggregate win and the return of former PSG manager Unai Emery to the Parc des Princes.
