Increasing the minimum pension by only UAH 234 — to UAH 2,595 per month — is how much they want to pay Ukrainian pensioners as a minimum payment, according to the draft State Budget-2026. At the same time, some MPs propose to increase it almost twice and continue its increase for 2−3 years.
VIDEO OF THE DAY
This proposal was made by People's Deputy of Ukraine Danylo Hetmantsev , who announced that he had made amendments to the draft State Budget-2026 to increase the subsistence minimum to 4,700 hryvnias. Accordingly, the minimum pension for Ukrainian pensioners should be the same amount.
According to the politician, this is the first step for a significant phased review of payments to bring them closer to the real required indicators. At the same time, in the future, a “road map” should be developed, which will outline the terms and amounts of pension and social benefits increases.
The subsistence minimum should be such that it is possible to actually live on it. The People's Deputy also emphasized that increased pensions and other social payments in conditions of a population poorer due to the war will ultimately return to the economy through the purchase of Ukrainian goods.

Previously, Danylo Hetmantsev had already made proposals to increase the minimum pension to 4,000-4,500 hryvnias, and to obtain funds for this as a result of the abolition of special pensions and the fight against the shadow tobacco market.
