However, certain improvements in material terms will occur in September, although indexation is not planned for the first month of autumn, writes the publication “On Retirement.”
What payments can pensioners expect in September?
Minimum payments
ADVERTISING
The amount of the minimum pension guaranteed by the state depends on the length of service, age, and category of the pensioner:
- the minimum payment for working pensioners (subsistence minimum for those unable to work) is 2,361 hryvnia;
- for pensioners aged 65 and over with full insurance experience (30/35 years for women and men, respectively), as well as people aged 80 and over with 20/25 years of experience, respectively for women and men — 3,758 hryvnias;
- for pensioners aged 70−80 years with the required length of service – 3,613 hryvnias;
- for pensioners under 70 years of age with full service and persons with group I disabilities – 3,323 hryvnias;
- For the remaining non-working pensioners, the basic minimum pension is 3,038 hryvnias.
Unfortunately, the State Budget for 2025 does not provide for an increase in the subsistence minimum, so the amount of minimum pensions will not change.
Maximum payouts
ADVERTISING
The maximum pension in Ukraine has been 23,610 hryvnias for the second year in a row (since January 1, 2024). This is how much they receive:
- researchers;
- civil servants;
- local government officials;
- People's deputies.
Also, those who have a full insurance record and earn at least 50 thousand hryvnias per month can count on such a pension.
There are certain categories of pensioners who receive higher payments:
- police;
- military;
- judges – lifetime cash benefits may exceed 100 thousand hryvnias and have no upper limit.
Therefore, the only option for “improvement” for most people on well-deserved rest can only be considered age-related supplements. For those who have received the right to age-related supplements, the recalculation will begin on the day after the date of birth.

In addition to reaching a certain age, there is another condition: the pension must not exceed UAH 10,340.3. The amounts of additional payments are as follows:
- from 70 to 74 years old – 300 UAH;
- from 75 to 79 years old – 456 UAH;
- from 80 years old – 570 UAH.
“The accrual of the supplement does not begin from the beginning of the calendar month, but from the day after the birthday. Therefore, the first payment will be made proportionally to the number of days. Important! A person who has already been assigned a supplement to his pension (for example, UAH 456 for someone who has reached 75 years of age), upon reaching the age of 80 will receive an additional UAH 114 – that is, the amount of the supplement will increase to UAH 570,” the PFU explains.
Let us remind you that in Ukraine they want to introduce a mandatory second pension – the stages of its implementation have even been named.
