French NF Party Leader Marine Le Pen Proposes Alternative Tough Immigration Bill

Paris (Sputnik) – French far-right national front (NF) party leader marine Le Pen introduced the immigration bill, which is an alternative to that which was introduced by the government of France, proposing tough measures to combat immigration.

“Government bill on asylum and migration debate, which starts today, is a rare need in the fight against immigration. We will try to change the text during the parliamentary discussions. Given the importance of this issue and to show the conformity of our card, we wanted to present a full counter-proposal, proposal of the French alternative migration policies,” French far-right national front (NF) party leader marine Le Pen said during a press conference.

The party leader stressed that Immigration was a big issue of the 21st century, which puts French civilization at stake.

She also said that in his project, the party proposed to reform the law On citizenship, and to abolish the dual citizenship without exception, and to implement measures allowing to deprive of citizenship.

Le Pen also said that in order to be a citizen of France, you should “want and deserve”.

The lower house of the French Parliament, the National Assembly began discussion of a bill the government aimed to put immigration under control and asylum rules more effective.

France and other European countries was significantly influenced by the ongoing migration crisis. In 2017, more than 100,000 migrants and refugees asked for asylum in a European country, which became the highest indicator for the last 40 years.

The national front advocates the fight against illegal migration, against the membership of France in the EU, and supports protectionism and traditional values, among other issues. The party has eight seats in the 577-member National Assembly. In recent presidential elections, marine Le Pen took second place.
