Flight attendant 'caught naked and high in plane toilet'

A British Airways employee was found drugged and naked in an airplane toilet during a flight from California to London, a court has been told.

Hayden Pentecost, 41, who was described as agitated, sweaty and slurring his words, was removed from duty by an officer for refusing to participate in standard pre-flight safety checks.

Complaining of stomach discomfort and the need to change clothes, the man locked himself in one of the aircraft's lavatories.

After opening the door, the colleague noticed he was completely naked and unaware of his condition. She had to help him dress before moving him to another location, according to court documents.

On Friday, Pentecost pleaded guilty at a court in Uxbridge, England, to acting as a crew member while under the influence of drugs.

According to the testimony, the captain of the aircraft spoke with the flight attendant before the arrival of a medical specialist.

The man had dilated pupils, a rapid pulse and required constant monitoring every 20 minutes until he arrived at Heathrow Airport, where he was taken to hospital.

Laboratory analysis revealed the presence of methamphetamine and amphetamine in the defendant's system.

As it became known during the investigation, the man was fired from British Airways and now lives with his husband.
