At least one person was killed in an explosion at a multi-story shopping center in central Moscow on Sunday, according to emergency services.
The incident occurred on the third level of the Central Children's Store shopping center, located on Lubyanka Square.
According to a report by state media outlet RIA Novosti, emergency services officials said the source of the explosion was a gas cylinder.
According to the capital's Department of Health, two of the injured were hospitalized.
City Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted that, most likely, what happened was connected with a technical failure in the equipment.
Following the incident, the building was evacuated.
The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated an investigation into the incident.
