Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, appeared on stage this Wednesday to present the company’s upcoming generation of wearables powered by artificial intelligence: advanced glasses possessing a small screen within the lens.
Delo.ua informs about this, citing a CNN article.
“Meta Ray-Bans Display glasses represent the company’s subsequent stride towards a horizon where we’ll progressively minimize our reliance on gazing at our phone screens. Rather, we will gain the capability to engage with Meta’s AI technologies — alongside communications, visuals, and the remainder of our digital presence — by means of glasses virtually indistinguishable from standard spectacles or shades,” Zuckerberg stated.
The Displays variant and other emerging wearables constitute a facet of Meta’s plan to more profoundly integrate artificial intelligence into users’ everyday lives, while simultaneously vying with other key players in the industry to devise the most cutting-edge and extensively employed models.

“Glasses present the optimal configuration for individual superintelligence, enabling one to remain anchored in the current moment while concurrently unlocking admittance to the entirety of AI capabilities that amplify intellect, hone communication, sharpen memory, and heighten sensation,” elucidated Zuckerberg.
He unveiled the novel items during a featured presentation at the annual Meta Connect gathering, wherein the enterprise showcases fresh resolutions in artificial intellect, virtual and broadened reality, and portable technologies — at its central office situated in Menlo Park, California.
Meta further demonstrated an enhanced base-level iteration of its Ray-Ban intelligent eyewear, christened Gen 2, together with the recent Meta Oakley Vanguard athletic eyewear; in conjunction with innovative functionalities intended for the Quest 3 virtual reality apparatus, encompassing games, an amusement application, and a collaboration involving Disney+ concerning Horizon, Meta’s enveloping “metaverse.”
Intelligent eyewear persists as a comparatively specialized commodity, yet its reception among shoppers is witnessing accelerated escalation. As of July, EssilorLuxottica, Meta’s associate and proprietor of the Ray-Ban trade name, disclosed that Meta’s earnings had more than increased threefold year-over-year. The enterprise is as well strategizing to fabricate 10 million units of Meta eyewear on an annual basis by the year 2026.
Zuckerberg had previously conveyed to stakeholders that individuals lacking AI-enhanced eyewear would be at a disadvantage going forward.
