As of October 14, 2025, Microsoft has formally ceased to offer support for the Windows 10 operating system. The firm is advising users to upgrade to Windows 11, a more up-to-date, safeguarded, and notably productive OS.

As reported by Delo.ua, this information is detailed in the company's official blog.

It is highlighted that from this moment forward, no longer will there be any provision of technical assistance, upgrades to functionalities, and security enhancements.

Microsoft is urging consumers to upgrade to Windows 11 without charge, though this may not be feasible for every computer.

“Should you possess devices running Windows 10, we suggest upgrading them to Windows 11, providing a more modernized, secure, and enhanced computing experience. If your devices fail to satisfy the requisite technical specifications for Windows 11, we propose registering for the Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program aimed at consumers, or substituting your device with one that is Windows 11-compatible,” stated the company.

What does the end of support imply?

Subsequent to October 14, Windows 10 computers will still be operational; however, Microsoft will cease to supply the subsequent features:

  • technical assistance for any matter;
  • software enhancements;
  • security updates or fixes.

Individuals can proceed to utilize a computer operating on Windows 10, but in the absence of ongoing software maintenance and security enhancements, the computer will face elevated vulnerability to viruses and malicious software.
