The ML System crew members received only PLN 1,500 instead of full salaries, and no one explained to them when the remaining part of the salary would be paid. They are worried about their jobs. We asked the company's representatives for explanations. It turns out that the situation is not optimistic.
An employee of the company ML System wrote to the editorial office of Bankier.pl, wishing to draw attention to a serious problem that affected its employees.
– We have not received full salaries this month. Each of the employees in the office and in production was paid only PLN 1,500, without any information on when to expect the rest of the salary due – says an ML System employee who wishes to remain anonymous. – This situation is very worrying and raises questions about the financial stability of the company and the treatment of the staff. Many of us have financial obligations, and the lack of full payment puts us in a difficult situation.
Is stagnation in the construction market to blame?
We asked representatives of ML System about the reasons for the situation. In the statement sent to our editorial office we read:
“ML System operates in a demanding market environment that has a significant impact on its financial results. In 2024, the company's profitability was affected by several key factors, including stagnation on the construction market and high prices of photovoltaic components, which, compared to cheaper, ready-made modules imported from China, limited the dynamics of revenue growth,” wrote the company's representatives.
Possible layoffs?
As reported in response to questions from Bankier.pl, “the company is taking ongoing actions to stabilize its financial situation and optimize costs in order to ensure timely fulfillment of obligations towards employees and business partners.”
It turns out, however, that its employees cannot be calm about their positions. “ML System does not rule out further optimization of the employment structure, adapting it to current market challenges and development strategy,” it was written.
What’s next for ML System?
ML System representatives claim that it has been consistently implementing activities aimed at strengthening the dynamics of its development. In the last three months of last year, it began optimizing its internal structures, focusing on standardizing production processes and export expansion.
“At the same time, it aims to reduce operating costs and improve margins, which contributes to increased competitiveness and long-term profitability. The first effects of these activities were already visible in the fourth quarter of 2024,” it was reported.
According to company representatives, the company places particular emphasis on the development of foreign sales, seeing great potential in the Scandinavian, German, Benelux and US markets.
ML System is a technology company specializing in designing and implementing integrated systems based on photovoltaic cell technologies, used to obtain electricity from sunlight. It produces, among others, photovoltaic panels, BIPV modules, heating glass and active insulating glass. It employs about 330 people.
