“The company is developing a 400-foot-tall Starship rocket that Musk says will play a key role in sending humans to Mars. The company's reusable Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets have significantly reduced launch costs, allowing SpaceX to secure a significant share of the global market,” Reuters reported.

As the agency stressed, while NASA continues to fund deep-space research and exploration missions, SpaceX relies on growing demand for launch services and satellite communications. It generates revenue from there.

The company explained that in 2024, it achieved a record with 134 Falcon launches, making it the most active launch operator in the world. SpaceX aims to break that record by performing 170 launches by the end of 2025, in an attempt to meet the growing demand for putting satellites into space.

Reuters noted that Musk’s company’s revenue is largely driven by its Starlink satellite internet service, under which SpaceX has launched thousands of satellites to deliver broadband internet around the world.
