Man or machine? What future awaits us in the era of robotization – podcast with Kacper Nowicki, CEO of Nomagic

The development of humanoid robots is gaining momentum thanks to advances in artificial intelligence and mechanical engineering. Modern machines of this type not only resemble humans in appearance, but they are increasingly imitating our movements, facial expressions, and social behaviors. In today's podcast episode, we ask the question, what future awaits us in the era of robotization?

For some, the vision of robots walking around the world is a scene straight out of a science fiction movie. However, we can increasingly watch films featuring humanoid robots online. In addition, machines are replacing heavy tasks in industry or logistics. In 2023, 2,685 new industrial robots were installed in Polish factories. The total number of operating robots increased to almost 25,000, and the robotization density indicator reached 78 robots per 10,000 employees in the manufacturing industry.

In the third episode of the MamBiznes: Startup Talks podcast, we talked about how to learn to work with artificial intelligence. Today, we answer the question of how to function in the era of robotization and automation. The guest of the episode is Kacper Nowicki, CEO of Nomagic, a Polish startup implementing robotic solutions for warehouses.

The future in the era of robotization

MamBiznes often describes groundbreaking robotics solutions. For example, Norwegian startup 1X recently announced plans for early tests of its Neo Gamma robot. This year, they are to cover at least several hundred homes. However, despite many trials and demonstrations, humanoid robots are still unattainable.

According to Kacper Nowicki, who co-founded the robotic startup Nomagic in 2017, we will have to wait a decade for humanoids. Therefore, before this happens, it is worth preparing for cooperation with machines and robots. At the same time, this development raises ethical questions: where is the boundary between a helpful tool and an attempt to replace a human? In the coming years, it will be crucial not only to refine the technology, but also to create an appropriate legal and social framework for the coexistence of humans and machines with human characteristics.

In the fourth episode of the MamBiznes: Startup Talks podcast, we talk about what the model of human-robot cooperation will look like, how humanoid robots are developing, and how Poland compares to Europe and the world in the field of robotics.
