Are you a subscriber to Orange, Plus, Play or T-Mobile and want to know how to terminate your contract before the deadline? Terminating a contract with an operator can be expensive, but it is not complicated. There is a common belief that divorce from a mobile number operator is long and arduous. In reality, the process itself takes at most two months, but for premature termination of the contract the customer will still have to pay compensation to their service provider – the sooner they want to withdraw from this relationship, the higher the price.

The scheme of action is the same regardless of the operator. A subscriber who wants to cancel paid services must inform the operator in an appropriate manner about the intention to terminate the contract for mobile telephone services. According to Polish law, the basis for the recognition of such an order by the telecommunications company is the submission of an appropriate letter. The operators Play, Plus and T-Mobile do not have ready-made forms. In the case of Orange Polska, a sample letter is available on the website.

Tariffs that include unlimited calls and free text messages with a decent internet package cost even less than PLN 20. However, the leading prices are not prepaid cards, but subscription offers, although in this case the customer is still tied to the operator for a longer period of time.

Termination of the Orange contract
Termination of the Orange contract (as in other mobile networks) is not possible via the Internet. In the case of this operator, the question of where to send the application is replaced by where to find a ready-made form? The operator Orange Polska in the Service tab after going to the Account management section provides a contract termination template.

The first part of the form requires basic personal data. The form is the same for both individual clients and entrepreneurs.

The second part of the letter, concerning the withdrawal from the Orange contract, takes the form of a short survey. In it, the appropriate service that the customer is withdrawing from should be marked. In the adjacent column, there are options to choose from that specify the moment at which the contract is terminated. Below, there is a field in which the customer can enter the reason for the withdrawal. A handwritten signature and date are required at the bottom of the application.

When terminating a fixed-term contract before it expires, you should expect that Orange Polska (as well as any other operator) will impose a penalty on the customer resulting from failure to meet its terms. The amount of the penalty is determined individually for each contract and decreases proportionally to the period of use of the services – the closer to the end of the contract, the smaller the penalty the customer will pay.
Withdrawal from a contract with Orange is a different type of procedure than resignation. As with other networks, withdrawal can occur within 14 days of concluding the contract and does not generate additional fees.

T-Mobile contract termination
In the case of early termination of a contract with T-Mobile, the situation is slightly different than in the case of Orange Polska. On the operator's website, we will not find a template for a letter in the pdf extension or a doc template. However, there is the necessary information that should be included in the application for termination of the contract with T-Mobile.
The operator stipulates in the regulations that for terminating the contract before the deadline, the customer will have to pay a set penalty. They are also subject to a notice period lasting the full billing period, which must be paid for in accordance with the terms of the offer. The exception concerns only the last month of the contract – if the termination occurs during the last billing period of the contract, the subscriber will pay a monthly bill reduced by the amount corresponding to the number of days in which they will no longer use the service.

When terminating a contract in connection with transferring a number to another operator, it is worth remembering that there is no notice period in this case . However, the customer may still be subject to a penalty for terminating the contract.
Termination of the Play contract
A similar mechanism also operates in the Play network . However, the issue of penalties is different. According to the regulations for the provision of subscription services by the P4 operator. In the case of a contract concluded for a fixed term, which involved granting a discount to the subscriber, the operator has secured the right to demand a contractual penalty. Its value cannot exceed the value of the discount granted and indicated in the contract. The value of the penalty, as in previous cases, is reduced by the corresponding amount for the period from the date of conclusion of the contract until its termination.

When terminating a contract early with Play, you must also take into account that you must observe a 30-day notice period, counted from the first day of the billing period following the billing period in which the declaration of termination of the contract was submitted.
Termination of the Plus contract
The 30-day notice period with full settlement period also applies to the Plus network. In this case, no exceptions to the norm were made – the contract is terminated by submitting an appropriate written declaration. The Plus customer, like with the other operators from the so-called big four, will have to answer for failure to comply with the terms of the contract and will pay a penalty for premature termination.

Here too, the amount of the penalty depends on the amount set in the contract and decreases with its duration. The later the contract is terminated, the lower the penalty will be.
Termination of the contract without penalty
Customers also have the option to terminate a fixed-term subscription agreement without paying a penalty if they fail to meet its terms. However, these are rare cases, which result from the provisions of the Telecommunications Law. According to the law, any change in the terms and conditions of the offer or price list during the term of the agreement allows the subscriber to terminate the agreement with the operator's fault – because it was the operator who changed the terms and conditions and did not fulfill the signed agreement.
This does not mean, however, that every change entitles the customer to terminate the contract with impunity. If changes in the records result from the entry into force of new legal regulations or the regulator of the communications market, the subscriber cannot perceive this as a violation of the provisions of his contract with the operator.

How to write a contract termination notice?
Another important issue is the content of the contract termination statement that must be delivered to the operator. You will not find ready-made forms on the websites of telecoms – the customer can find at most a message about what are the key elements required by the service provider in such a letter. The exception is the operator Orange Polska, which provides a sample letter on its website.
Details and addresses for individual operators are already presented in the tables above. In turn, the content of the declaration is not rigid and it is enough to prepare it in the form of 1-2 sentences, containing information about the termination of the contract. The safest way is to provide both its number and the telephone number to which it relates. In the upper left corner, it is necessary to provide your personal and contact data, which will help verify the client (operators may require passwords and codes written in the contract to be provided here). The written form also obliges the client to personally sign in writing.
