Lukoil's refinery in Volgograd has suspended oil withdrawals after one of the latest Ukrainian drone attacks, Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing information from a person familiar with the matter.
Falling debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle caused a fire and oil spills at a refinery among Russia's 10 largest on Thursday. It took about 19 hours to extinguish the blaze, the regional administration said.
Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian energy infrastructure over the past week.
The Volgograd refinery, which was attacked several times earlier this year, can process up to 300,000 barrels of oil per day.
The Moscow Times noted that Ukrainian attacks have hit at least seven refineries over the past two weeks. As a result, operations at the affected refineries in Saratov, Novokuybyshevsk, and Ryazan have been suspended. Reuters reported that the shutdown at the Novokuybyshev and Ryazan refineries will last a month. (PAP)
