The possibilities of artificial intelligence in home applications are no longer a concept straight out of science fiction movies. OpenAI has unveiled a new feature, ChataGPT. At the request of a user, the agent went shopping online and independently gathered the necessary items for dinner into a basket.
Artificial intelligence is now present in almost every aspect of our lives. The most visible application is probably Google's search engine with Gemini AI, which answers user questions by preparing short text summaries based on various articles. ChatGPT from OpenAI also performs well in this regard.
Now, this tool will be expanded with a new feature, which will initially be available in a paid plan. The new AgentAI, accessible via the “Tools -> AI mode” command, will be able to use more than just internet resources to prepare texts, graphics, and presentations. A video presented by a platform X user shows how the Agent handled shopping.
He was asked to prepare a roast for two people and a dessert. The user entered a prompt (command) requesting a Tesco offer. The AI agent accessed the store's website, logged into their account with the user's consent, selected ingredients for the basket, and summarized the purchases and prices . Finally, it asked if the user was satisfied with the offer and whether they should pay for the order.
BREAKING: OpenAI just released ChatGPT agent.
I just tried it and I'm blown away.

This is apparently just one of its many capabilities. The tool's creators say that you can now instruct the Agent to handle requests such as:
- “review my calendar and inform me about upcoming client meetings based on the latest news,”
- “plan and buy ingredients for a Japanese breakfast for four people”
- “analyze the activities of three competitors and create a presentation.”
According to the developers, ChatGPT intelligently navigates websites, filters results, prompts for secure logins, performs analysis, and even provides editable slideshows and spreadsheets summarizing the results.
The authors ensure that the user will always have control over the Agent's behavior – ChatGPT will ask for permission before taking important actions (e.g., logging in, making a payment, etc.). A human can easily interrupt the activity, take control of the browser, or stop tasks at any time.
The solution will be available to Pro, Plus, and Team users. Currently, my Pro version doesn't have this feature yet.
