The creator of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, is starting a fresh artificial intelligence (AI) venture, dubbed Project Prometheus, assessed at approximately £4.7 billion ($6.2 billion).
As indicated by Delo.ua , this is according to a report by The Telegraph.
According to the media outlet , Bezos is slated to become one of the leading figures in the fledgling firm.
The novel enterprise intends to utilize AI in the fabrication of computing devices, aeronautical components, and vehicles.
In parallel, as per a piece in The New York Times , Bezos will spearhead Project Prometheus alongside Vic Bajaj, who had a hand in the commencement of the biotech enterprise Verily.
Even though the organization hasn’t been formally presented yet, it has already succeeded in securing $ 6.2 billion from backers – including Bezos himself.
In his pronouncements, Bezos refers to AI as “a sort of industrial phenomenon , “ but he is of the opinion that society will reap “ significant gains “ from this technology.
Project Prometheus represents an ambitious undertaking: the startup is planning to incorporate AI into manufacturing activities, echoing Elon Musk’s ambition to do the same with AI-powered robots, like Tesla's Optimus.
As a reminder, Jeff Bezos is among the top three wealthiest individuals worldwide, according to Bloomberg. As of November 18, his wealth is pegged at $255 billion.
