Noel Meade believes the Grand National Challenger dead in his stable

Noel Meade Randox health Grand national contender a Genie in a bottle, was found dead in his stable on Friday.

Seven-year-old’s death is a mystery to his connections in the present.

He was owned by Gigginstown house Stud and was around 50-1 for the national but was sent to a 4-1 favourite for the four-mile national hunt chase at Cheltenham last season, where he finished fifth.

“We have no idea what happened. He was good in the morning and dead in his box at lunchtime. It’s just one of those things,” said press Secretary Gigginstown, Eddie O’leary.

Gigginstown are still well represented in the Aintree showpiece.

“I hope the Tiger roll will run and alpha DES Obeaux. Thunder and roses can run, because he fell to seventh place in Fairyhouse and so there was no race,” O’leary said, “the Irish times”.

“Valseur Lido may also work, and the road to riches. Hope place (Aintree) can help him find his mojo.”

O’leary also discussed the possibility of joining Rachel Blackmore Katie Walsh (Baie DES Iles) and Briony frost (Milansbar) in the National.

“Nothing is certain, but Rachel is incredibly nice and we would like to feel that in the race,” said O’leary.
