Lando Norris has vowed to replicate his maiden Formula One race win in Miami with another a year later and reignite his long-running world title challenge.
Norris goes into round six of the new season 10 points behind McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri and without a win since the start of the race in Melbourne.
The British driver ended his winless streak in Formula One with victory at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium last year.
Norris said: “This is a place that brings back fond memories for me. As a kid, I dreamed of winning Formula One and being at the top, and I got to do that here.”
“Since I came back, there have been a lot of things that have made me smile, and I'm going to do it again.”
Norris struggled in the last two races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, qualifying sixth and tenth respectively.
Norris recovered to take third in Bahrain and then fourth in Saudi Arabia, but Piastri took victory in both races.
The 25-year-old rider added: “I’m working on myself, trying to understand what I need to improve and trying to figure out what exactly I need to improve.
“It's not a lack of speed or ability. It's not clicking yet, but I'm working on it and hopefully I can put it into practice this weekend.”
Max Verstappen was previously excused from scheduled media engagements due to the birth of his first child.
Verstappen, 27, is expecting a child with his partner Kelly Piquet, the daughter of three-time world champion Nelson Piquet.
The Dutchman, who currently sits third overall, was due to speak to the press on Thursday.
However, his team Red Bull said the reigning champion was not on track.
Verstappen was expected to return on Friday for practice and the qualifying sprint.
A Red Bull spokesman said: “Max will not be at the media day in Miami as he is expecting a baby.
“Everything is fine and he will be out on track tomorrow for the race weekend.
“We will not be making any further comment at this time due to the privacy of Max and his family.”
