Dame Laura Davies discusses Lottie Wade's chances of winning the AIG Ladies' Championship at Royal Porthcawl just weeks after turning professional.

Lottie Wood has been included in a star-studded group alongside two previous AIG Women's Open champions for the first two rounds of this year's competition at Royal Porthcawl.

Woud is the pre-tournament favourite for the final women's tournament of the year, following triumphs at the KPMG Women's Irish Open and Amundi Evian Championship, as well as a successful start to her professional career at the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open.

The 21-year-old is being handed the chance to compete in her first major as a professional a year after finishing 10th at St Andrews as an amateur. Waud will take to the field at 12.54pm on Thursday alongside defending champion Lydia Ko and 2023 winner Lilia Wu.

Lottie Wood expressed her delight at winning her first LPGA Tour event on her professional debut at the ISPS Handa Scottish Open and said she has her sights set on success at the AIG Open.

“It's going to be fun,” Ko shared at the press conference. “Lilia, of course, was the champion a couple of years ago, so it's going to be fun to play with her. It's going to be my first time playing with Lottie, so I'm really looking forward to it.”

“She [Wood] comes with great enthusiasm and I think a lot of people will want to see her.”
