Anybody There? Astronomers Eavesdropping on Interstellar Visitor

Scientists believe, can not be more than 46 million interstellar objects zooming through our Solar system every year.

Astronomers looking for possible signs of alien life on cigar-shaped, interstellar object hurtling through our Solar system has so far failed to obtain any evidence of little green men signaling to us, a new study shows, the website Live Science wrote.

“We found no such signals from an alien” a team of Australian astronomers with telescopes, the Murchison Widetilde to eavesdrop on a rocky visitor known as Oumuamua, wrote in the newspaper.

The researchers noticed a mysterious, reddish-space rock in October 2017 when it was seen by pan-STARRS1 telescope in Hawaii.

“This is the first direct evidence of an object that originated in another solar system,” Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the science mission Directorate at NASA in Washington, said in a statement at the time.

For further investigation, astronomers turned the telescope, including the Murchison Widetilde to “listen to” strange, 72, and 102 MHz, the incoming radio signals Oumuamua range normally used by FM radio stations on Earth.

Summing up, the researchers suggested that Oumuamua not an alien spaceship, but rather a fragment of a comet.

Although astronomers have not been able to hear any radio signals that might be sent by intelligent aliens, they still consider their efforts to be another step in a long-standing human desire for et intelligence.
