Ukrainian and American teams will work on the points of the plan to end the war.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, communicated that during his dialogue with the US Secretary of the Army, Daniel Driscoll, they explored prospects for establishing genuine peace, the phases of the plan’s execution and formats for ongoing discussions, alongside novel strategies to boost diplomatic endeavors.
“Our teams – Ukrainian and American – will collaborate on the aspects of the plan designed to cease the hostilities. We are dedicated to productive, transparent, and swift work,” Zelenskyy stated on Telegram on Thursday.
The Head of State underscored the significance of peace and expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump and his administration for their efforts regarding security in Europe. “Ukraine defends life and independence thanks to the bravery of our citizens, unity within the nation, and the backing of allies. We are striving to maximize the effectiveness of these three elements,” he added.
Zelenskyy also reported on Russia’s extensive missile assault on Ternopil. “Yesterday, the Russian military struck a multi-story building with an Kh-101 missile. It was manufactured in 2025 and comprises 175 international components that Russia obtains in violation of sanctions. We are relying on the US to assist in blocking these routes,” the president highlighted.
Moreover, Zelenskyy presented Minister Driscoll with comprehensive materials detailing the companies manufacturing essential components, their nations of origin, and the specific parts themselves, with the aim of strengthening oversight of arms provisions to Russia.
It’s worth noting that the European Union’s top diplomat, Kaia Kallas, emphasized that no peace initiative can be enacted without the engagement of Ukraine and European partners. Simultaneously, the EU is proposing its own strategy, encompassing two key elements.
