At least 17 people have died as a result of a terrible storm that has swept across much of the United States.
Tornadoes in the state have killed 11 people, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
In addition, the agency reported numerous casualties.
Arkansas officials reported three deaths in Independence County and 29 injuries in eight counties Saturday morning from storms that moved through the state overnight.
The Arkansas Department of Public Safety reported damage in 16 counties, including damaged homes and businesses, as well as downed power lines and trees.
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Channel X: “We have crews surveying the damage from the tornado, and we have first responders on the ground ready to help.
“At the same time, I just released $250,000 from our Disaster Recovery Fund to support the resources needed by every impacted community.”
Three people were killed in traffic crashes during a dust storm in Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle, authorities said Friday.
