Parliament Removes Anna Kolisnyk from Office – Motives

Рада позбавила Анну Колісник депутатського мандату

She authored the request to leave the post voluntarily in spring.

During a sitting on October 21, the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada ratified a resolution concerning the premature cessation of powers for Anna Kolisnyk, a representative of the People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People faction. The decision garnered support from 262 parliamentarians.

It is worth noting that Anna Kolisnyk had already submitted a statement regarding her resignation from the deputy position in May. In June, the VRU Regulations Committee gave the green light to the deputy’s statement concerning her resignation, but a vote on it was deferred for quite a while.

Notably, in October of 2022, NABU and SAPO served Anna Kolisnyk with a notice of suspicion for introducing inaccurate details in her declaration, amounting to over UAH 4.4 million. As per the probe, she omitted information pertaining to the lease (ownership) of two Kyiv apartments, a percentage of a non-residential property in Kharkiv, along with a vehicle, from the 2020 declaration.

Furthermore, back in March of 2021, Kolisnyk found herself at the center of a controversy when, amidst a telephone conversation during a special session of the Verkhovna Rada, she communicated that “We have to exit this nation.” The representative clarified later that she was alluding to a vacation abroad.

Anna Kolisnyk secured her position as a deputy in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the 2019 elections, representing the Servant of the People party under number 94 on the ballot as a non-affiliated member. She held membership within the Servant of the People faction and participated in the Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy.
