We can only do the Senate race in Texas. A new survey Quinnipac University shows incumbent Senator Ted Cruz (R) barely ahead of his democratic opponent, the Republic of Beto O’rourke — 47% to 44%.
Although a survey of this competition was sparse this year, and Cruz is the favorite in a red state, this result seems to cement the Texas race as a priority for Democrats as they fight to take back the Senate in 2018.
Although trump won in Texas, his victory over Hillary Clinton was only 9 percentage points — to the nearest Texas was in the presidential election for two decades. And the survey Quinnipac believes that the state voters not particularly thrilled with the performance of trump in office — 52% of respondents didn’t approve of him, while 43 percent approved.

Cruz will try to take advantage of this situation, trying to determine his opponent. (He stood up on the odd effort to cast a shadow on O’rourke for the use of the nickname “Beto.”)
The big picture is that although the Democrats face extremely unfavorable the map in an attempt to regain the Senate — they were defending 26 seats and nine Republicans, many of their seats are in States trump won, their chances have improved in a few different places in the end.
