Due to an expert interview, Yuriy Kasyanov, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a radio engineer, an aerial reconnaissance specialist, and the founder of the public research and design bureau of unmanned aircraft “Matrix-UAV”, together with his colleagues, “fell into disfavor” with the Office of the President, and directly with Andriy Yermak. Kasyanov wrote on his Facebook page about how the authorities punish the military. Moreover, after a long silence, he stated that “he is now open for interviews.”
“For a year now, our company has been on the blacklist; we are supposedly non-existent – all movements, assignments, development of the unit, and partly combat work – are blocked. People are not appointed to positions, they are not given officer ranks, reports for traveling abroad are not signed even for official necessity, reports-“needs” for the purchase of unmanned equipment are not signed, and even the orders for combat work already approved in the GeSh itself are not signed or canceled,” he writes.
According to him, since March of this year, his unit has not received a single drone from the state: “We are getting by with our own money, with the help of volunteers and friendly units. But in a month or a half, there will be no point in fighting.”
Instead, the command does not respond to all requests, letters, and reports from the military.
“Even talking stopped. The tactic is simple – wait until the unit loses combat capability, when the help of volunteers runs out, the drones run out, and then send everyone to the attack aircraft – to repel the landings. A simple and elegant solution to the issue. After all, no one will argue with Andriy Borisovich himself,” he noted.
Kasyanov initially tried to defuse the tension and find a way to resolve the conflict, but to no avail.
“I tried to solve the problem, promised not to give interviews so that no one would twist my words, and God forbid to touch on “political issues”. However, this did not help at all. Our command does not resolve such issues, does not raise them with the higher command, and is generally afraid of its own shadow,” he writes.
It has also not been possible to change the situation at the highest level. Everyone who is close to the government today is using the strategy of “going into the fog.”
“It is impossible to get to Syrsky. It is understandable – where is Commander-in-Chief Syrsky, and where is Kasyanov with some company. The “profile” deputy chief of the General Staff honestly tried to help, but could not. The deputy minister of defense disappeared as soon as he learned the nature of the problem. Mykhailo Podoliak, a person in the president's office, to whom in the spring of 2022 one could easily go to Bankova to drink cognac, disappeared and does not answer calls. The war hero, Yermak's deputy, Colonel Pavlo Palisa, kindly agreed to meet with us, listened, was surprised… And soon he also disappeared, does not answer messages and calls. Generally speaking, “disappearing” is a new business style of the modern Ukrainian elite,” the military man shares.
“For a year now, they have not allowed us to work normally, not allowed us to fight effectively, as if we were an enemy unit, and this is very similar to sabotage, sabotage, and treason. If this open message does not change your decision to force us to land for a principled professional position, then at least transfer some money for drones – we will need them there,” he concluded.
In addition to PR, there must also be technical expertise when it comes to introducing military innovations into mass production.
