Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his willingness to participate if he receives an invitation to talks in Budapest involving US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to a “Sospilny” journalist, he mentioned this during today’s press conference.
“If I receive an invitation to Budapest either for a three-way encounter or for a sequential format, where Trump meets Putin initially and then engages with me, we will certainly agree to it,” Zelenskyy stated.
The president also mentioned that European nations currently offer their complete backing to Ukraine. He added that a meeting with high-ranking EU representatives is a possibility this week.
As previously reported, on October 16, Trump engaged in a two-hour telephone conversation with Putin, subsequently declaring his intention to convene with the Kremlin head in Budapest within the next couple of weeks. Trump elucidated that Hungary was designated as the venue for the meeting because the country’s Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, is a “competent leader,” and the nation does not have the same number of issues as other countries.
