Moscow (Sputnik) – US President Donald trump on Wednesday criticized the TRANS-Pacific partnership (TPP) and world trade organization (WTO), stressing that bilateral agreements better serve the interests of the economy and its workers.
“While Japan and South Korea would like us to come back to TTP, I don’t like the Internet for US. Too many accidents and there is no way to go, if it doesn’t work. Bilateral deals are much more efficient, more profitable and better for our employees. Look how bad the WTO for the United States,” wrote trump on Twitter.
Trade agreement TPP was signed in 2016 and initially collected 12 Pacific region, including the United States. However, trump, who criticized the TPP among other agreements during his election campaign, brought the country out days after taking office as President in January 2017, claiming that they were poorly negotiated trade agreements bad for the US labor market. The deal was not ratified and therefore not entered into force.
April 12, the White house confirmed that trump has instructed his advisors to examine how best to trade TPP agreement could be concluded.
In early April, trump called the WTO “unfair,” noting that China, which is a great economic power, was considered a developing country within the organization, thereby enjoying the “huge benefits and advantages” over the United States.
Later this month, China filed a complaint with the WTO against Washington over a new steep tariffs on us, citing their non-regulation organization.
