Trade War: US Plans to Hit Back at China's Crackdown on US Tech Firms

The US authorities consider the possibility of increasing pressure on China in a trade war, as retaliatory measures in response to the restrictions of China on American technology companies.

The wall Street Journal reported that U.S. Trade representative is considering launching an investigation that could lead to new trade restrictions on imports of Chinese goods.

These measures are intended as a response to the actions of Beijing against us cloud computing companies like Amazon Web services and Microsoft, in partnership with Chinese firms to provide services in the country.

China also canceled a license allowing American companies to operate in China, according to the U.S. trade representative.

The authorities have not yet decided, action will be taken against Beijing, but very dangerous, should be a signal to China that possible new restrictions.

If Washington will dare to toughen measures against China, they may apply to Chinese companies offering cloud computing services in the United States.

Trade relations between the US and China deteriorated in 2018 after Washington imposed a series of measures against Beijing.

In early April, the U.S. side has prepared a list of Chinese goods worth $ 50 billion, of which 25 per cent duty will be imposed. However, a few days later, Washington declared that the tariffs can affect more Chinese goods worth 100 billion dollars.

Over the past few weeks trade relations between China and the United States deteriorated.

In March, the President of the United States Donald trump has signed a decree on the introduction of tariffs by 25% on steel imports and the 10 percent tariff on imported aluminum, after which he issued a Memorandum introducing 60 additional tariffs on China billions of dollars in connection with allegations of theft of intellectual property.

In response, China introduced its own tariffs on goods produced in the United States. Both countries have stated that they can make further mutual constraints.

In early April, trump has proposed to impose an additional rate in respect of China $ 100 billion in response to “unfair retribution Beijing.”
