President Donald Trump states he has no intentions to christen his $300 million White House ballroom with his own moniker.
Addressing journalists in concise comments while departing the White House Friday evening for a journey to Asia, Trump refuted a prior account indicating he would likely affix his name to the fresh ballroom.
"I don't intend to name it after myself," Trump remarked. "That was untrue reporting. More likely to name it the presidential ballroom or something similar. We haven’t truly deliberated on a designation as of yet."
Earlier, leading administration figures informed ABC News that certain individuals within the administration were already alluding to it as "The President Donald J. Trump Ballroom" and that this appellation was anticipated to remain.
The White House asserts they have made public the complete roster of benefactors for the initiative. On a compilation of those donors, furnished to ABC News by the White House, the ballroom is referenced as “the President Donald J. Trump Ballroom.”

Prior to Friday, Trump had not openly declared what he intends to call the ballroom, although he is renowned for labeling his building ventures after himself.
Upon being questioned by ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce on Thursday if he had a title for his ballroom presently, Trump grinned and responded: "I won't delve into that at this moment."

A White House representative verified to ABC News that $350 million has been amassed for the ballroom endeavor, asserting the president "has garnered such favorable and immense backing for the ballroom that he persists in receiving contributions."

The representative indicated building will still total $300 million as of now.
Queried as to what he intends to undertake with the surplus $50 million, Trump communicated to reporters Friday evening it could potentially be employed to assist in erecting a substantial victory arch — patterned after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris — that Trump has suggested building just outside Washington.
When questioned by ABC News White House Correspondent Karen Travers on Thursday how significant of his personal funds he was contemplating allocating to the ballroom, Trump answered, "Oh, millions upon millions. Certainly. Furthermore, I also contribute, you realize, I contribute substantial funds to the White House. The White House is, as you discern, I relinquish my salary, and I typically prefer to channel it towards the White House given that this residence was somewhat neglected."
