The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, conducted discussions with the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, within the framework of the European Political Community meeting in Copenhagen, declared the presidential press office on October 2nd.
The core subjects included diplomatic initiatives for attaining a fair settlement in Ukraine and the potential for expediting its accomplishment.
Independently, the presidents emphasized the energy alliance. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for backing the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, and both sides reaffirmed their shared intention to proceed with collaboration in this domain.
Further, they deliberated on opportunities for collaboration in the defense sphere and concurred to uphold future dialogues at a significant standard.
As a reminder, back in August, Aliyev denounced Russian assaults on energy resources belonging to Azerbaijani firms in Ukraine, also rendering aid to Kyiv. Earlier reports indicated that Baku cautioned Moscow, stating that Azerbaijan might eliminate limits on weapons provisions to Ukraine in the case of renewed attacks.
