New arrivals and blunders have left both Manchester United teams with goalkeeping problems ahead of Sunday's derby at the Etihad Stadium, which will be shown live on Sky Sports.
In the blue corner, Champions League winner and Euro 2020 hero Gianluigi Donnarumma has joined Pep Guardiola's side, putting James Trafford's place in the starting line-up in doubt despite him only signing from Burnley in July.

In the red corner, Senne Lammens' £18.2million move from Antwerp on the final day sealed Andre Onana's immediate future after a string of high-profile mistakes. The Cameroonian's move to Trabzonspor has now been confirmed.
Amorim have since confirmed that Altay Bayindir will retain his role in the starting line-up for the derby, saying it is time to show faith in the Turkish goalkeeper in the face of fresh competition from their new signing.
The two bitter rivals found themselves in the same predicament, and the goalkeeper position came into focus.
Here Sky Sports discusses each goalkeeper's case…
Bayindir receives support from Amorim
“Altay [Bayindir] will continue to play because we need him to,” Amorim said before the game against City.
“This game is clear. Altai will start. This is a manifestation of faith in Altai.”

The United manager was forced to publicly back Baindir again after his quality in the starting line-up was called into question by errors against Burnley and Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta's side suffered a 1-0 defeat after a Ricardo Calafiori header came after Bayindir failed to control his area. The win at Burnley was almost snatched when Bayindir passed back into his own penalty area where Jadon Anthony headed home.
Bayindir now has the backing of his boss but needs to repay that trust with a convincing performance at the Etihad.

Lammens bides his time
Bayindir will have to take advantage of the opportunity as Lammens now bides his time, eager to impress.
The numbers support the signing of the 23-year-old, although it remains to be seen whether his eye test results match his impressive numbers.

No goalkeeper made as many saves in Europe's top 10 leagues last season in 30 games in the Belgian Pro League. He also had one of the highest goals-prevented rates in Europe and made the most forward passes of any goalkeeper under 23.
Sky Sports News have reported that the Belgian is being viewed as a long-term project at Old Trafford, although Onana's departure could speed up his path to the No 1 shirt.
Amorim clearly considered a derby debut too risky, but it will not be long before Lammens gets his chance to impress.
Donnarumma in the deep end?
Joined Milan as a teenager, played at San Siro against rivals Inter at 16, saved two penalties in a penalty shootout against England and led Italy to victory at Euro 2021, became a Champions League hero and a two-time winner of the Yashin Trophy.
A Manchester derby debut wouldn't faze Donnarumma. He's made for such big occasions.

Questions have been raised over whether the 26-year-old suits Guardiola's style of play, but the City boss insists he does not expect the 26-year-old to replicate Ederson's ability on the ball.
“I always try to adapt to the level of the players,” Guardiola said at a press conference ahead of the derby.
“I wouldn't ask Gigi to do anything he doesn't like. We're talking about the best (goalie) I've ever seen in terms of passing, short and long passes, Ederson.”
“We didn't bring Gigi in to do what Ederson did. Gigi has other qualities.”
That quality is the ability to stop shots. City have suffered 15 shots on target in their first three games, more than any other team in the top flight, meaning Donnarumma's strength in that area will be welcomed with open arms by Guardiola and his coaching staff.
United lead the league in shots on target this season (56) and are second behind Liverpool in shots on target (15). City now need a goalkeeper who can cope with this threat. Donnarumma is the perfect option.
His ball handling skills and other topics of discussion are a topic for another conversation.

Trust Trafford?
On the other hand, it could be argued that Trafford deserve the opportunity to impress in the derby.
He made a confident start to his City return two years after leaving the club to join Burnley, keeping a clean sheet in the opening game of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, a blunder against Tottenham that led to a second goal in the afternoon of a 2-0 defeat, and another defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion, has drawn unwanted attention to the 22-year-old.
“He is Manchester City's goalkeeper. I can only play with one goalkeeper,” Guardiola added, referring to Trafford, who now have to compete with Donnarumma.

Despite the mistake and the arrival of a new player, Trafford can still lay claim to remaining in the City starting line-up.
Only Guglielmo Vicario has made more saves than the City goalkeeper in his first three games, while he also sits second for goals prevented in the top flight.
Trafford is a reliable defender who is capable of incredible strikes, as his goal-saving strike against Brighton showed.
Donnarumma could have provided healthy and quality competition to the academy graduate, rather than immediately displacing him.
