The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry commented on the statement of Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar, who cynically “would like to believe” that the drones that flew into Polish territory were “intended for Ukraine” – these words of the minister were quoted by Slovak publications.
“I want to believe that the drones that penetrated the territory of Poland were not intended to attack Poland, but were supposed to end up on the territory of Ukraine,” Blanar shared his hopes and immediately called for… a diplomatic solution to the “conflict” in Ukraine.
The answer was given by the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Georgy Tykhyi, writes RBC-Ukraine on September 11.
“A large number of Russian drones flew into Polish airspace – this is a fact of empirical reality that does not require belief. Such a massive crossing of the border by Russian drones could not have been accidental – this is a completely deliberate escalation on the part of Russia. This is how it is characterized in Poland and other partner countries,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman noted.
He called on the Slovak side “not to absolve Moscow of responsibility with inappropriate doubts and to recognize reality as it is, not as one would like to believe.”
The spokesman emphasized that this is the reality of Russian aggression, which threatens all of Europe and which Putin (ed. – Russian dictator Vladimir Putin) is trying to expand beyond Ukraine.
“Every adequate European government should now think about how to stop Russia and end the war together with Ukraine, not about how to justify Russian escalation,” Tykhyi added.
According to him, ending the war requires increased consolidated pressure on Moscow, cutting off the financing of the war, strengthening Ukraine, and cooperation between the anti-aircraft capabilities of Ukraine and partners to shoot down Russian drones and missiles.
Russia has no right to launch drones and missiles over Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, or any other country, Tykhyi emphasized.
As a reminder, at a meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb on September 11, Volodymyr Zelensky noted that an analysis of the flight paths of Russian drones in Poland on the night of September 10 indicates a well-thought-out and non-random nature of their border crossing. Zelensky suggested that Moscow was trying to test the reaction of its partners.
“To me, this attack is similar to Crimea. Only instead of “little green men” there are drones. I think it looks like a rehearsal. There are already reports in the media about certain parts of Poland that Russia claims,” the president said.
