The daily reports that 2,364 industrial robots were installed in Polish factories last year. “This is 12 percent less than the year before and one-third less than in 2021, a record year for Poland, when, on the wave of the post-pandemic recovery, companies around the world began investing in automation and robotics,” according to preliminary data obtained by “Rzeczpospolita” from the International Federation of Robotics.

According to them, the newspaper reports, last year was a period of slowdown in robotics both in Europe and globally, but to a lesser extent than in Poland. “According to preliminary IFRs, the number of new robot installations worldwide fell by 3% to 523,000 (this decline could be smaller if the recent data revision for China is confirmed), while in Europe it decreased by 6% (to 86,000),” he emphasizes.

– This is a consequence of the halt of automotive projects on our continent and the decision-making chaos between Brussels and the European automotive sector – says Tomasz Haiduk, president of the Forum for Polish Automation and Robotics (FAIRP), an employers’ association grouping Polish engineering companies in the field of robotics and industrial automation.

As Haiduk points out, in some European countries, the crisis in the automotive sector (which has been a leader in automation for years) was offset by increased demand for robots in other sectors. (PAP)
