A fire at a chemical plant in northeastern Spain has prompted emergency services to issue a health risk to 150,000 local residents and advise residents in five nearby towns to stay indoors, authorities said on Saturday.
Medical services said four people were treated for breathing problems.
The fire broke out early on Saturday morning in a warehouse at the plant, located near Vilanova i la Geltrú.
According to firefighters, the warehouse contained 70 tons of chlorine intended for use in swimming pools.
The stay-in-doors order was in effect for seven hours for nearby municipalities located between Barcelona and Tarragona on the Mediterranean coast.
According to firefighters, the fire was contained by the end of Saturday.
