Tottenham book Europa League final against Manchester United after Bodo/Glimt win

Tottenham remain keen to end a 17-year trophyless spell and secure titles in Ange Postecoglou's second season in charge, with a 2-0 win in Bodo/Glimte securing their place in the Europa League final.

Spurs started with a two-goal lead from last week's first leg in north London but were warned they would face a tough test on the challenging artificial surface of the Bodo Stadium, located above the Arctic Circle.

Fireworks greeted both teams at the Aspmira Stadium and Postecoglou watched his side put in a fine defensive display in the first half before finding the net twice in the second half.

Dominic Solanke opened the scoring with his 15th goal of the season in the 63rd minute and six minutes later Pedro Porro's strike all but sealed Tottenham's place in the final in Bilbao.

This will be only Spurs' second European final in 40 years and, although the club sit 16th in the Premier League, Postecoglou could still make good on his promise to always be looking for trophies in his second season.

Bodo put in an impressive performance at home on a fast artificial pitch that was sprinkled and drizzled before kick-off.

A stunning fireworks show greeted the players on the pitch but Richarlison nearly silenced his team's loyal fans before his shot was blocked.

Shortly afterwards, Olde Didrik Blomberg fired a half-volley into the net from a tight angle and Spurs traded strikes early in the match.

A good performance from Solanke saw Tottenham awarded a free kick in a dangerous position midway through the first half, but Porro's curling shot was saved by Nikita Khaikin.

Trailing two goals in the first leg, Bodo upped the intensity and Guglielmo Vicario was forced to save a Patrick Berg free-kick before Kasper Hoeg headed wide.

A wide pass from Yves Bissouma opened up the way for Berg, but his long-range shot was also saved by Vicario and there was still no goal at the break.

Play resumed with 404 Spurs fans singing the Bilbao anthem, although the visitors were twice indebted to Destiny Udogi for vital clearances that prevented Kasper Hoeg from scoring in the far corner.

Postecoglou returned to the bench after Mathis Thel replaced Richarlison and the Bayern loanee's first serious contribution to the game resulted in a goal.
