Jarrod Bowen secured a draw for West Ham as they struggled to a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham.
Bowen scored his 10th Premier League goal of the season, equalising after Wilson Odobert had opened it up for Tottenham.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, who is focused on the Europa League, made eight changes to his squad to give his key players a rest ahead of Thursday night's semi-final second leg in Norway against Bodo/Glimt.
With Spurs' minds clearly elsewhere and West Ham keen to end their disappointing season as quickly as possible, the match was likely to prove unnecessary for both teams, and it showed.
The dozens of empty seats at the London stadium during the derby reflected the apathy gripping a club that has picked up just 14 points from 15 games under an increasingly dejected Graham Potter.
Even the battle to avoid the Premier League's bottom spot has failed to galvanise matters. West Ham currently sit 17th, with Tottenham just one place above them, still seeking to avoid their worst top-flight finish since their relegation in 1977.
However, there was a bizarre scene where Lucas Paqueta appeared to be crying after being shown a yellow card for a foul on Mikey Moore in the second half. The Brazilian is still awaiting the outcome of a Football Association hearing into allegations of deliberately receiving yellow cards in four matches.
Tottenham took the lead in the 15th minute when Hammers defender Max Kilman twice attempted to clear the ball, but it rebounded both times to Matis Tela.
For the second time, Thel managed to clear the ball and direct it towards goal, where it was unnoticed by Aaron Cresswell, allowing Odobert to fire easily past Alphonse Areola.
However, West Ham responded shortly before the end of the first half when Bowen avoided an offside trap to collect a pass from Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Hammers captain burst into the box, cut inside and rolled the ball between the legs of Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario at the near post.
Spurs could have gone ahead again six minutes before the break when Paqueta carelessly passed straight to Richarlison.
The Brazilian found Tel on the edge of the penalty area and kept moving, picking up a return pass and sending it into the goal, but there was no one there to finish the ball off.
In the second half, Niklas Fullkrug headed the ball into the West Ham goal and Pape Sarr fired inches over the bar after a powerful shot from the edge of the area.
Bowen nearly gave the hosts the lead with 10 minutes remaining but his glancing header was superbly saved by Vicario and James Ward-Prowse curled a free-kick just wide in stoppage time.
