Galway secured their fourth successive Connacht title with a 1-17 to 1-15 victory over Mayo at McHale Park.
The All-Ireland finalists were left struggling in the dying minutes as Mayo were unable to overcome Galway's strong first-half performance.
Mayo started in good spirits as Darren McHale scored the opener in the 11th minute to give his side a 1-2-0-2 lead.
Galway responded with two goals from Paul Conroy to take a 0-7 to 1-2 lead after 21 minutes.
Matthew Tierney extended his side's lead with a penalty and they went into the break with a 1-11 to 1-03 lead in control of the game.
Mayo made a confident start to the second half, with goals from Ryan O'Donoghue, Matthew Ruane and Darren McHale helping Mayo reduce the deficit to a point after 49 minutes.
Three minutes later, O'Donoghue equalised with a long-range free-kick and Mayo took the lead with a shot on goal.
However, Galway regained control of the game with points from Conroy, Robert Finnerty and Liam O'Conghale giving Galway the win.
In the Munster final, David Clifford scored 2-5 to help Kerry secure a 4-20 to 0-21 win over Clare in Killarney.
All of Kerry's goals came in the first half, with Sifford's opener coming just three minutes into the game.
He scored his second goal in the sixth minute, after which Michael Burns and Barry Dan O'Sullivan scored, and the team went into the break with a 4-10:0-7 lead.
Clare continued to attack, picking up nine points through Emmett McMahon, but defeat was dealt in the first half as attention turned to Ireland's group stage.
