Wayne Riley takes a closer look at TPC Scottsdale's 16th hole and the sound around the iconic par-three
The Waste Management Phoenix Open is renowned for its record-breaking crowds, but just how loud do the fans get at TPC Scottsdale?
The 2018 event smashed the previous year’s attendance record of 655,434, with 216,818 fans attending Saturday’s third round for the largest crowd in PGA Tour history.
An iconic feature of the par-71 layout is the Stadium Hole at the 16th, where more than 15,000 people cram into the stands and make plenty of noise for the players.
The raucous spectators aren’t afraid to make their voice heard as they rate every player’s swing, with the hole widely known as the loudest hole in golf.
Wayne “Radar” Riley has patrolled the fairways throughout the week in Phoenix, with the fun-loving pundit taking a closer look at just how loud it gets and how that noise compares in everyday life.
