Ukrainians will be paid almost 1,300 hryvnia in cash assistance: who will receive the funds

Due to the shortening of the heating season, some Ukrainians began to pay additional money for electricity.

The assistance will be provided within the framework of the Frontline Territories Support Program, the Ministry of Community and Territories Development of Ukraine said in a statement.

The ministry emphasizes that the funds will be automatically accrued along with subsidies and benefits and will be calculated at the rate of 100 kWh per person (but not more than 300 kWh per family). This is UAH 432 per family member, the maximum payment is UAH 1,296 per household.

“For people in the frontline territories, every additional hryvnia is of great importance. We understand that due to Russian aggression, living conditions there are extremely difficult. As part of the Frontline Regions Support Program, a system of additional payments for electricity has been launched today. This will help families cover basic needs – light, heat, and the operation of household appliances. We are working to ensure that everyone feels support on the ground,” said Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development.

The message also emphasizes that there is no need to contact social security authorities or submit applications – payments will be made by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

People will be able to partially offset the costs of electricity needed for basic needs — lighting, heating, the use of household appliances, or even alternative energy sources.

Families living in frontline regions will receive payments until:

  • the family will move from a dangerous area;
  • will lose the right to a subsidy or benefit;
  • The status of the territory will change to conditionally safe or temporarily occupied.

“The Frontline Territories Support Program is a comprehensive state initiative that combines the reconstruction of housing, schools, hospitals, and critical infrastructure with support for local businesses and direct assistance to people. We are working to ensure that people have safe living conditions, can plan for the future, and have access to quality services — education, medicine, and social support. At the same time, we are developing the local economy so that new opportunities for work and business appear in communities,” the message emphasizes.

Let us remind you that starting in October, utility companies will intensify their efforts to “knock out” debts from citizens who do not pay on time for consumed heat, gas, and electricity.
