After the alarming forecast in October about a possible fuel shortage in Ukraine in the winter, the situation has improved somewhat. However, according to experts, now we are not talking about a shortage, but only about a noticeable increase in the price of diesel fuel.

This was stated on the air of Lviv. Media by the founder of the Prime group of companies Dmitry Leushkin . According to him, the situation with the cost of fuel is influenced by several factors at once – a surplus of oil in the world, a fuel shortage in Europe after the 19th package of sanctions against Russia, as well as geopolitical tension.
As a result of all this, he called the increase in diesel fuel prices by 2 hryvnias during November and the same amount in December. In total, thus, according to Dmytro Leushkin's forecast, diesel will add 4 hryvnias to the price by the end of the year.
Serhiy Kuyun, director of the A95 consulting group, said in a comment to Ukrinform that diesel fuel prices in Ukraine may rise by another 2.5 hryvnias per liter, and no acute shortage is predicted.

“The retail price of diesel fuel has already increased by UAH 1.5 per liter. There is potential for the price to increase, but I don't think it will increase by UAH 4, by UAH 2.5. I think we will see that in a few weeks,” said Kuyun.
The expert noted that it is currently difficult to calculate the impact of long power outages on the growth in fuel demand. At the same time, it is unlikely to exceed 10% of the total market volume, and therefore there will most likely be no shortage.
At the same time, according to Serhiy Kuyun, there is no reason to expect changes in prices for gasoline and liquefied gas.

Thus, according to the Ministry of Finance portal, from November 3 to 11, the average price of diesel fuel in Ukraine increased from UAH 56.3 per liter to UAH 57.5, and on October 1, diesel cost UAH 55.9.
As “FACTS” wrote, the wholesale price of diesel fuel increased even more – by 3.5 UAH per liter.
