Washington (Sputnik) – hackers may have hacked payment data of some customers of Delta air lines last fall, a United States airline, said in a statement on Wednesday.
“At the moment, although only a small portion of our customers would be exposed, we cannot definitively say whether any customer information was actually accessed or subsequently broken,” said the company.
The attack was limited to the period between 26 September and 12 October and target customers of Delta and other companies that used [24]7.AI online chat. The airline said no other personal data such as passports, ID cards, frequent flyer information, affected.
Chat made known of the data breach on March 28, Delta he said, adding that she immediately engaged the Federal law enforcement agencies and forensic scientists. The airline will launch a special website Thursday to update its customers on the probe.
