In October of 2025, Ukrainian transport companies acquired 1,491 fresh and pre-owned tractor vehicles. Even though this reflects an 8.9% dip compared to October of the prior year, the marketplace demonstrated a noteworthy rebound versus September – an increase of 13.2%.
This is relayed by Delo.ua, citing experts from the Institute for Auto Market Research.
The major proportion of transactions involved domestic resales, encompassing almost 57% of market activity. Imported secondhand tractors accounted for a third of the entire volume, while pre-owned trucks represented nearly 90% of overall sales. Ukrainian buyers purchased 155 new units, making up a mere 10.4% of total sales.
The investigation highlights the subsequent shifts in segment trends: domestic resales saw an uptick of 3.4% from September, imports of used vehicles rose by 20.2%, and new vehicle imports jumped by 70.3%. Meanwhile, on a year-over-year basis, only new tractor imports exhibited upbeat momentum.

Domestic market leaders
Within the local resale sector, the circumstances remain consistent: demand has slightly increased, and the options preferred by carriers have largely stayed the same. The DAF XF still dominates the top spot – it stands as the most favored tractor in Ukraine owing to its dependability, straightforward upkeep, and accessible parts. Opting for it is a logical choice amidst times of financial unpredictability.
Closely following are the well-known German “powerhouses” – MAN TGX and Mercedes-Benz Actros. They garner attention due to their build quality, cutting-edge technology, and comfort, even though they often have a higher price tag.
Consistent demand persists for the Volvo FH and Scania R-series – Swedish models recognized as exceptionally comfortable for extended trips. The latter part of the rankings features “classic” models like Renault Magnum, Renault Premium, and DAF CF. They are purchased for their user-friendliness, roomy interiors, and more accessible cost, which matters for haulers with constrained funds.
Used tractors from abroad
In the sphere of imported used tractor units, following the prior week’s “draw” between MAN TGX and DAF XF, MAN has regained the forefront. Nevertheless, the DAF XF remains robust, valued for its adaptability and strength.
The Scania R-series and Volvo FH maintain consistent demand, representing the selection for those prioritizing top-tier comfort in international hauling. Among more economical alternatives, the DAF CF and Renault Premium continue to be favored, but alongside these, the Renault T-series has entered the top rankings this month – a relatively contemporary model, suggesting a progressive alteration in carriers’ criteria regarding the standard of imports.
New tractor units
The new tractor sector is mostly claimed by the Volvo FH, which was accountable for approximately half of all deliveries during this month. This constitutes a remarkable figure, simultaneously demonstrating that major carriers are depending on the technological traits and economic viability of the Swedish make.
In the runner-up position is the Iveco S-Way, previously at the rating’s peak. The Scania R-series secured the third slot. Such a leading trio illustrates the inclination of businesses to broaden their vehicle lineups and allocate funds to cutting-edge machinery.
We’d like to add that in September of 2025, Ukrainian transportation companies purchased 1,216 new and pre-owned tractor units. This number is 22.2% lower than in September of 2024, but 9.1% greater than in August of the current year, indicating the market is displaying a steady strengthening after the summer lull.
