Manufaktura Piwa Wódki i Wina SA, owned by Janusz Palikot, operated for over eight years. However, instead of projected large profits, it generated significant losses and allegations of fraud against several thousand people, totaling PLN 70 million. The court declared it bankrupt in December 2024. By the January 2025 deadline set by the trustee, approximately 1,000 claims had been filed .

There are no takers for the lease

According to “Fakt,” the trustee commissioned a description and valuation of the company. He also filed a motion with the court seeking permission to sell Manufaktura Piwa Wódki i Wina (Vodka and Beer Manufactory) . The proceeds will be used to repay creditors.

The plan also included leasing the brewery before it was auctioned, which would allow for the settlement of some debts, including those owed to the company's staff. However, no bids were received.

Huge debts and imprisonment

Last year , the debt of just two of Janusz Palikot's companies to lenders, investors, contractors, employees, the tax office, and the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) was estimated at PLN 340 million . Of this amount, PLN 256 million was owed by Manufaktura Piwa Wina i Wódki, and PLN 84 million by Tenczynka Dystrybucja.

In connection with his activities, Janusz Palikot was detained by the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) on October 3, 2024. He was charged with eight counts, including seven counts of fraud and one count of the unfavorable disposal of property belonging to several thousand individuals, totaling nearly PLN 70 million. According to the prosecutor's office, he misled investors by promising investment profits that were actually used to repay his companies' debts. He was released from custody only in January of this year after posting PLN 2 million bail.

How much does Janusz Palikot earn?

According to the accused, his property was unlawfully seized for the purposes of the proceedings or taken over by creditors.

Today, I can earn 3,000 PLN. Any amount above that is seized. Every time a larger sum is received, I have to ask the bailiff for permission to prevent the funds from being seized,” claims Janusz Palikot, quoted by “Fakt.”
