“We strive to make the world a better place than we found it. After many years of hard work, we are proud to have reached this important milestone,” said Tim cook, Apple’s CEO, in a press release on Monday.

In addition to its headquarters in California, data centers and retail stores in 43 countries, including USA, UK, China and India, to work on wind energy from its farms and solar energy already purchased. Other sources of renewable energy for Apple include biogas, fuel cells and micro hydro generation systems, and the company also taps the local utility to deliver additional energy.
Biogas, fuel cells, capture of methane that otherwise would be emitted to the atmosphere and micro-hydro systems generation turbines, which are mounted loose in said waterways, mark Jacobson, Director of Stanford University’s atmosphere and energy program, ABC news.
Apple clean energy projects contribute directly to local networks and the tech giant is working to obtain “significant participation” in wind and solar power plants in various fields, Lisa Jackson, Apple Vice President of environmental, policy and social initiatives, said during the Bloomberg new energy Finance conference on Tuesday, according to GreenBiz, an online green business news publication.
AppleApple new headquarters in Cupertino, California. runs on 100 percent renewable energy sources, in particular from 17 megawatts location rooftop solar installation.
Apple gave RIA Novosti in a comment to Jackson at the conference, when asked about its 100 percent renewable energy.
When the Apple trees to buy renewable energy from another supplier to one of the branches of the company remains “loyal to the regional grid,” said Jackson at the conference.
“[It means] renewable energy purchased Apple is on the table in Apple stores or data centers,” Jacobson said, “as opposed to on the grid a few States away.”
Jacobson explained that Apple is “creating a new, clean energy that offsets the energy they use. Apple produces as much or more clean, renewable sources of electricity as they use in all their operations.”
Apple currently has 25 projects on renewable sources of energy worldwide, and more than 15 projects in the field of construction, said in a press release.
The company did not say how much he spends on the purchase of renewable energy.
Apple is one of 100 companies that are 100 per cent renewable energy campaign РЕ100, which is organized by the working group on climate change with the aim of increasing the demand and supply of electricity from renewable sources worldwide.
Currently, AppleApple has 25 operational projects in the field of renewable energy sources around the world, including wind and solar projects developed in China.
There are many factors that must be considered for the company to be able to claim their source is 100% renewable energy to power their facilities, said Sam Kimmins, campaign Manager РЕ100. For example, a company could claim that the clean power plant in one country is providing renewable energy to the building in another country. Said kimmins campaign checks to the approval of the members about renewable energy.
“Many companies, as they do so they approach the contract with a renewable energy plant,” he explained. “Apple has made great efforts in their claims”.
Other technology companies that strive to achieve this goal, the campaign РЕ100 as Google, Facebook and Microsoft.
Google has achieved 100 percent renewable energy in 2017, and Microsoft has been supplying clean energy, starting in 2014, said Kimmins.
By this time next year РЕ100 anticipates that more than 200 companies have signed on to commit to 100 percent renewable energy, said Kimmins.
For companies making the transition to renewable energy, it can “help solve the energy security, climate and air pollution health problems associated with fossil fuels, and create jobs,” explained Jacobson.
Companies continue to rely on fossil fuels can contribute to “increased morbidity and mortality due to air pollution,” said Jacobson. “For example, in the US, 65,000 people die prematurely from air pollution from fossil fuel and biofuel, and hundreds of thousands of cases. Replacing fossil fuels for renewable sources of energy will avoid this problem.”
Apple also announced that 23 of its industrial partners have committed to produce Apple products with 100 percent clean energy, said in a press release.
“It makes real business sense and is the definition of the business of the future,” said Kimmins agreements with Apple producers of renewable energy.
AppleApple has partnered with local solar company in Japan to provide renewable energy for its activities.
Some of the projects in the field of renewable energy sources, Apple will include additional wind and solar farms in China and clean powered data centers in Iowa and Denmark. He is also working with a solar company in Japan to install solar panels on the roofs of Japanese houses.
“It’s a constant way for them,” said Kimmins on renewable energy sources from Apple springs. “When they open new plants in new countries, they need to create renewable sources of energy for this place.”
