On Friday, May 22, in Giza (Egypt), on the eve of the fight for the world title at the foot of the pyramids, a weighing ceremony was held between the rivals – the holder of the WBC, WBA and IBF belts, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (24 wins, 15 of them by knockout) and the legendary kickboxer from the Netherlands, Rico Verhoeven (1 win by knockout).

The 37-year-old native of Bergen-op-Zom turned out to be 11.5 kilograms heavier than the 39-year-old Olympic champion (both were wearing outerwear). The scales under Verhoeven showed 117.3 kg, under Usyk – a record 105.8 kg for a Ukrainian (before the rematch with Dubois, Alexander weighed 103.1).

After the weigh-in ceremony, the rivals had a final duel of glances. The “gazes” lasted about a minute, without any excesses.

Recall that, according to unofficial information, Verhoeven will receive 10-15 million euros for the fight, while Usyk's fee will be from 35 million and above.
