Tuesday Briefing: Grealish prepares for Everton loan as Palace lose European appeal

Jack Grealish looks set to head to Everton as Crystal Palace face Europa Conference League action after losing their Europa League relegation appeal.

Meanwhile, Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

City gives green light to Grealish loan

Everton have agreed a one-year loan deal with Manchester City for England favourite Jack Grealish.

The 29-year-old is due to undergo a medical at the Merseyside club on Monday, PA news agency reported.

Grealish, who signed for City four years ago in a British record £100m deal, hopes the move will help his career in the coming season.

He has started just seven Premier League games as he was left out of the Etihad Stadium squad last season and was not included in the Club World Cup squad this summer.

CAS appeal to Palace dismissed

Crystal Palace have lost their appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over their relegation from the Europa League to the Conference League.

UEFA relegated the FA Cup holders to the third-tier continental competition after finding that American businessman John Textor had a “decisive influence” on both Palace and Lyon after March 1.

Nottingham Forest, who play at Selhurst Park on August 24, are expected to book a place in the Europa League.

A CAS statement said: “The Commission found that John Textor, founder of Eagle Football Holdings, owned shares in CPFC and OL (Olympique Lyonnais) and was a board member with decisive influence over both clubs at the time of UEFA's assessment.”
