Scorecard – Oval Invincibles v Manchester Originals
Manchester Originals 139-6 from 100 balls: Beth Mooney (70 from 45 balls), Catherine Brice (24 from 18); Marizanne Kapp (2-22 from 20 balls), Phoebe Franklin (1-17 from 10)
Oval Invincibles 137-3 from 100 balls: Meg Lanning (56 from 42 balls), Lauren Winfield-Hill (33 from 25 balls); Sophie Ecclestone (1-18 from 20 balls), Amelia Kerr (1-22 from 20 balls)
Kapp (19 points from 15) then had a chance to win the game for the Invincibles with the last ball of the chase when four were needed, but he could only score a full pass from Deandra Dottin across the middle of the field and the hosts finished 137-3.
The Invincibles, who lost their final match of the tournament to defending champions London Spirit on Tuesday, saw Mooney's fellow Australian Meg Lanning (56/42) make two consecutive fifty-pointers after making 85 last time out.
Manchester Originals' Catherine Brice received a frosty farewell from Marizanne Kapp after she was eliminated in Saturday's match.
When Faye Morris bowled Lanning from deep back square and the ball slipped away for four, the Invincibles' demand was reduced to 13 from six balls, only for Lanning to hole out the next long ball.
Paige Scholfield (9th batted off 4) then bowled Dottin for six to reduce the deficit from two to five, but the bowler showed composure.
