Harry Brooke made this audacious strike that knocked the Northern Superchargers player off his feet as the ball travelled six metres.

A superb performance from the Northern Superchargers batting earned them a comfortable 36-run win over Birmingham Phoenix to move Harry Brooke's side top of the Hundred table.

A thrilling cricket match under the lights in front of a packed Leeds United stadium ended with the Superchargers winning 193-5 – the highest score in the men's competition since 2023.

A superb partnership between Phoenix's Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell, who put on 80 off just 42 balls, briefly threatened to change the game, but a brilliant performance from Adil Rashid, who got Bethell out by catching him and bowling him with 87 still to go off 38 balls, eventually put the initiative back in the hands of the hosts.

Livingston continued to hit after Bethell's departure, but Rasheed's tactics proved too much for the Phoenix players.

In a batter-controlled game, on a flat pitch with lightning-fast pitchers, it was the great leg-spinner who once again showed his power, outsmarting Livingston on the 17th pitch to decide the game.

The Phoenix first team failed again, losing three wickets in the powerplay, two of which were given to the excellent Matthew Potts, who finished with figures of 3-26. The Phoenix now face a tough task of progressing.

The Superchargers' Fab Four were unstoppable once again, with Zak Crawley and Dawid Malan continuing their successful debut partnership by putting on 67 off 31 balls.
