The 2019 winner is five-over for the day in difficult conditions at Royal Troon, sitting in a tie for eighth on two-under.

His playing partner Daniel Brown leads the way on six-under.

Padraig Harrington wrapped up his penultimate round on three-over, with Tom McKibbin on nine-over.

Six-time world snooker champion Ray Reardon has died aged 91.

The Welshman was one of the most successful players of all-time, dominating the sport in the 1970s.

He was awarded an MBE in 1985 and the Welsh Open trophy was named after him in 2011.

Three-time world champion Mark Williams says he was a “real inspiration”.
